Brass

Creations proposed on brass are the same as those on stainless steel with regard to customized finishing operations and surface treatments (see the technical data sheet), which can be combined ad infinitum so as to reproduce or create all kinds of graphics.

It is nevertheless recommended to protect brass objects lastingly by applying an anti-UV polyurethane varnish.

TRACERY

Ornamental frieze comprising two symmetrical interlacing patterns. One pattern is satin-finished (dull finish), the other pattern finish is at 45° striated (hairline finish). The patterns are put on a mirror-polished surface, separated by 1 mirror-polished tracery design. The plate is varnished.

CANUT

Project model of mirror-polished brass lift door shutters with CANUT decoration. Bespoke realization of the decoration on 4 doors (i.e. 8 panels), order delivered in June 1995.
The decoration has a hairline finish in 5 different directions without separation between the striated surfaces. 1:25-scale model.

Wastepaper bin / ashtray for the LIDO

Rolled brass plate with satin-finished background (dull finish) and mirror-polished decoration with laser-cut LIDO Feather giving access to the blue stainless-steel inner bin (powder-coated), which is independent of the brass plate and can be withdrawn after removal of the ashtray. The brass plate is varnished. In 1994 the Paris LIDO placed an order with the company STRIES for a set of ornamental brass panels and elements. This order comprises 6 wastepaper bins/ashtrays.

According to the importance of the surface to be treated, colours can vary slightly from more or less light to more or less dark and/or appear graduated.
